Game vs Colchester Institute

FIF Academy scholars played in the cup against Colchester Institute,
the game started extremely well for our scholars with the players
retaining possession very well and keeping shape which allowed
them to move the ball impressively throughout he pitch, early
chances were created without a break through however the
progression from the previous week was clear to see.

Later in the half the scholars created even more chances testing
the keeper and their defence on several occasions, our own
goalkeeper Ben P looked a different player throughout the game
being used as the eleventh man when on the ball and produced some
superb one on one saves.

Second half started strong again for the Future in Football scholars
who moved the ball quickly and dominated possession and the
chances in the game, with 15 minutes to go FIF conceded a corner,
the ball was delivered to the back post and deflected in, the players
looked disappointed but went on to create more chances to push
for the equaliser. Conor F had a header glance wide, Joshua N broke
free and had his effort saved whilst Drew K came off the bench and
had a few chances which the Colchester GK saved.

With the FIF back four playing extremely well starting all the attacks it was hard to see how there wouldn't be a breakthrough, with minutes to go the players stretched the game but didn't find the goal they were looking for and the game finished 1-0 to Colchester Institute.

A great performance from the future in Football players and a massive improvement from the previous week, they have worked very hard the last few weeks in training and it's starting to show in games.
